The Lowrance 520c was a very popular model in the Lowrance line up. It's a discontinued model but good quality units can still be found on places like Craigslist and ebay. Basically it's a 200 kHz Sonar and Chartplotter combo. It was well liked by most people who used it and I would go as far as saying it was one of Lowrances most popular models during it's production. The Lowrance HDS-5 has replaced it in the Lowrance lineup.

Lowrance HDS-5 Lake Insight With StructureScan Review
Recently my buddy showed me his new toy that he'd bought. It's was the Lowrance HDS-5 with Lake Insight and StructureScan. He'd bought it with the Lake Insight map, choosing to pay a little more for the high definition and detail of the Insight maps versus the base map. The only problem is that my buddy is not a Techie and asked me to help him figure out the new unit. So we set aside a Saturday to install the unit and go out to the lake and try it out. I looked forward to it since I could see what the Lowrance HDS-5 could do and hopefully get enough info to report back to you good folks here at Fish Finder Reviews.

Fish finders are not getting any easier to use. If you're not a computer nerd, then chances are some of the functions are Greek to you. And that's unfortunate! Today's fish finders are so sensitive and accurate it's scary. Some of the units are so sensitive, you can watch a Walleye eat your jig in 60 feet of water!
