Hi folks, my name is Donald, the head guru around here. I started this site simply because I was getting asked more and more questions at the boat ramp when people saw my fish finders or either they saw me out in the middle of the lake catching fish while they were sucking wind. Now I’m not bragging, because before I started buying good fish finders, I was just like most of them folks, I was hit or miss when it came to fishing.
But my world changed greatly when I finally ordered a top of the line Lowrance x-16 back in the day (yeah, I know, I’m dating myself here!) I started finding all types of structures, channel breaks and other fish holding things that I never knew existed beneath the water. I even saw fish down there!
It took a lot of time, patience and paper to learn the ins and outs of that machine. But I started coming home with fish nearly every trip. And a heck of a lot more than I use too. I’ve been hooked on quality fish finders ever since!
Sure, you can see a few things with cheap fish finders. I know, I’ve used them. But a middle of the road or top end fish finder is going to be easier to use and save you a lot of time finding where the fish are hanging out. Some cheap fish finders won’t see the fish or structure your after. Or worse yet, it’ll see them but not show them correctly on the screen. If you don’t know what you’re looking at, it’s not going to help you a bit!
So I started this site in hopes of showing you the ins and outs of different fish finders and some tips on using them. So set back and enjoy and don’t forget to ask questions if you have them
